I’m a freelance illustrator from Singapore.

 

Describe the city you’re living in and what it’s like to live there.

Singapore is clean, neat and everything is well organised and managed. You feel safe here.

What is the best and worst thing about living in your city?

Singaporeans are generally practical and diligent. 

It’s peaceful but not necessarily relaxing to live here. 

10/10 from me anyways.

 

Give us 3 words that describe what it’s like to be a creative in your city.

Rare, bizarre, unsustainable.

 

How did you start your career in art?

I built my portfolio over the years.

 

Were the people around you supportive of your decision on working as a creative?

Most of my friends are creatives themselves, my parents didn’t mind me being one.

 

I want to try my best on every piece I’m going to make; and learn to accept more themes and topics.

 

What are some goals and ambitions you have for your future work?

If you could collaborate with any person in the world who would it be?

My mentor Stanley Artgerm Lau.

 

What are the biggest challenges you face in working as a creative?

Lack of drive to draw due to burnouts.

Cheerful and supportive.

 

Were there any local female creatives that you looked up to when you were growing up?

Yes, there were some. They inspired me when I was a teenager.

Asian kids watch Anime growing up, so I draw in Anime-style.

Old shop streets and hawker centres are great for vintage inspirations.
